Passport Emergency: Can you Help?

As you all know by now, our passports were stolen along with many other precious documents two days ago.

This morning, I am scrambling to find a way to get our passports sooner than the 2-3 weeks regular expediting of passports would take.

The bottom line is, we don't HAVE 2-3 weeks to wait.  We need the passports in order to re-do 17 documents in our adoption dossier.  These documents NEED to be sent to Tanner's country around the beginning of November in order to get translated and then submitted to the proper authorities before they close for winter holidays (I know, I know, they have already been closed for months because of The List stuff, but they aren't just going to skip Christmas and New Years because of that for us.)

Doing the documents over will mean new notaries and new apostilles, both of which also have fees associated with them.

Through Rushmypassport.com we can get our passports very quickly....but it comes at a steep price.  For next day service we are talking over $1000.  For 2nd Day service, it will cost $990 for both our passports to be replaced.

It is obviously a cost we were not anticipating.  But in all reality it just has to be done if we are going to get our paperwork submitted in time.

I know many of you contributed to our puzzle fundraiser, and I hate more than anything to be asking again.  I hate that we were robbed, I hate that our home was invaded and our privacy violated.  I hate that our entire identities were stolen and every aspect of or personal information is out there and at risk of being misused.

But more than any of that I hate that what these thieves have done might put our adoption in jeopardy.  Rob us of our electronics, we can replace them.  Rob us of our paperwork, and it can eventually all be replaced.  Rob us of our personal letters, I will mourn the loss for a very long time but we will recover because our loved one came home from war.

But DO NOT GET BETWEEN ME AND MY BABY.  That is something which I cannot forgive, and from which I will not recover.  Tanner must come home.  They cannot take that from us.


Tanner is our child.  We love him dearly.

And so I ask, one more time, Can you help us?
